Peeler Centrifuge


In acetylated starch (E1420) production, a peeler centrifuge is essential for separating the modified starch solids from the liquid reaction mixture after acetylation. The slurry is fed into the rotating basket, and centrifugal force facilitates rapid liquid filtration through a filter medium. The solid acetylated starch forms a cake, which is then mechanically scraped off (peeled) by a moving knife. This efficient batch separation ensures a high yield of the desired acetylated starch product with controlled moisture content, ready for further processing.
