In Ethylene Oxide (ETO) sterilization, a water ring vacuum pump is crucial for multiple cycle phases. Initially, it evacuates air from the sterilization chamber (pre-vacuum), ensuring effective penetration of steam (if used for conditioning) and the ETO gas sterilant. Following the sterilization dwell time, the pump removes the hazardous ETO gas mixture from the chamber.
